Philip
Adams
Philip Adams
was born in Melbourne on 1st of June 1947. After completing a
Diploma of Painting at the Caulfield Institute he moved to London
to paint full time. Drawing on influences after years of travel
through Europe, Africa, North America and an overland adventure
from England to India, Philip returned to Victoria in 1972 to
take up a teaching position at Maryborough Tec. Now settled,
he built a mud brick home and studio. Sadly, his beloved studio
and his paintings were destroyed in the Maryborough bush fire
- he rebuilt and resumed painting. In 1996 he left teaching to
become a full time professional artist and started to produce
a prolific quantity of paintings of the highest quality and has
exhibited almost continuously since 1989 in galleries all around
Victoria and the rest of the country. He is represented in private
collections in England, France, Germany, Japan, USA, Canada,
New Zealand and of course Australia.
